    13/04/08: SW1: Pagewood V Coogee United

    Sunday 13/04/08
    SW1: Pagewood V Coogee United
    Heffron Park

Result: Pagewood 0 Coogee United 4

    Another 9am kick off

Pagewood came into this game on the back of a very unlucky 1-0 loss to Waverly Old Boys, a game some people say Pagewood should have won! Coogee on the other hand, had a 6-0 win the week before, so this game had all the marks of being a tough classic match...

The game kicked off and Coogee went straight for the throat, we were playing football, the movement and passing were sublime and Coogee were on top, the first 15mins Coogee were camped in the Pagewood half, and we all knew a goal was coming, and here it came, a great through ball from Burger, put Belinda (Bee) in behind the defense, she hit a great shot, the keeper saved but Bee followed up her shot to tap in. 1-0 Coogee.

The 2nd goal was a screamer from Meg Russell, from the corner!!!! bent right in to the top corner. 2-0, we are cruising, the 3rd came from about a 10 passing move that resulted in another great ball from Burger to give Meg "Roy Keane" Russell, her 2nd goal of the game, 3-0 and still 10mins till halftime, the 4th goal was another cracker, this time Cuda had beat 2 players on the wing and crossed a great ball for Michelle C to run onto and hit a cracking volley into the top corner 4-0, halftime.

The 2nd half Coogee relaxed and conserved their energy for next week big game against Waverly.
