    NEW PLAYER INFORMATION

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR
    NEW PLAYERS/PARENTS OF JUNIORS
    (Under 6, 7 and 8)

Q: WHAT DO WE NEED TO SUPPLY ?
A: Shin Pads and plain black shorts are compulsory
(shin pads are for sale on registration days).
Football boots with moulded studs only
(no steel or screw- in studs).
Coogee Utd FC supply shorts and socks (to keep) and shirts.

Q: SO WE HAVE REGISTERED OUR CHILD, WHAT HAPPENS NEXT ?
A: The players will be allocated into teams by the Junior Co-ordinator.
This will take approx. 3-4 weeks from the final registration day (24th February 2007).
    Allocations are generally based on:
    a) who the child would like / has nominated to play with,
    b) the school they attend or
    c) the area they live in.

Q: WHO WILL LET ME KNOW WHICH TEAM MY CHILD IS IN ?
A: If no parents in the team have volunteered to be a manager or coach, the Junior Co-ordinator will initially appoint one parent as the contact. This person may or may not become the manager or coach. A team contact list will be faxed or e- mailed to this person, who will then contact the other parents, advising them of the team name, players etc. A team list (with the names only) will be posted on this Coogee Utd FC website.
We suggest arrangements are made to have a quick get together at a local park or oval etc. where the coach and manager can be appointed by the team.

Q: WHEN WILL TRAINING BE ?
A: Tuesday and Thursday nights at Heffron Park
Coach details and training times will be put on website once known

Q: WHEN IS THE FIRST AND LAST GAME ?
A: The first game is Saturday 29th April 2007 and the last game will be Saturday 26th August 2007, followed by 4 weeks finals series for top 4 teams.

Q: WHERE DO WE PLAY ?
A: Our home ground is Heffron Park, Fitzgerald Avenue, Maroubra.
The season draw can be located on the ESSFA website
    - a link will be provided here when available.

Q: DO THEY PLAY IN SCHOOL HOLIDAYS ?
    A: Please check Season Calendar

Q: WHAT TIME DO THEY PLAY ?
A: Generally the U6´s play at 8.30am or 9.15am, with the U7´s mid- morning (ie: 10.00am/10.45am) followed by the U8´s mid to late morning with the last game kick off at 12.15pm.

Q: DO THEY PLAY IN THE RAIN?
A: Yes, all games are considered ON unless notified to the contrary. Games are generally only called off when the grounds are too wet for safe play (2-3 days of heavy rain prior to the weekend).
The Wet Weather section on this website has additional information on this matter.

Q: WHAT IS EXPECTED FROM US BY COOGEE UTD FC?
A: Apart from supporting your child from the sidelines and enjoying watching them playing the world game, there are a couple of duties during the year that the club seeks your support in.
The manager will be issued with a duty roster that may require your team to either put up the nets &/or take them down &/or man the canteen or the BBQ at Heffron Park (only for home games) on a Saturday morning.
The club will also hold various fundraising activities during the year (ie dinner dance, raffles etc) and your support of these activities is strongly encouraged & appreciated.
Communication is the key to a smooth running and successful club and we therefore recommend that you read the weekly newsletter which your manager should pick up before games on Saturday mornings.

Q: WHAT IF I HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION ?
A: If you have not heard from anyone by the beginning of March regarding team allocation please contact the Junior Co-ordinator for details.
Once the team has allocated a manager, ALL questions should be referred to the manager in the first instance.
If the manager cannot answer the question, then the manager should contact the appropriate person within the club.
